Contributions

To date the Fund has awarded 413 grants to individuals who have participated in progressive social activities in areas of their own choice. All grants are awarded from interest earned on the endowment base.

Annual contributions have enabled the Fund to support an ever growing number of applicants.  The Fund also provides the opportunity to make a donation to celebrate a special occasion or a life cycle event.  A personalized acknowledgement card is sent immediately to the family or person notifying them of your thoughtful gift.  We do not include the amount of the donation unless you specifically request that you wish it to be included.

The IRS has designated that all contributions to the Amy Adina Schulman Memorial Fund are fully tax deductible; the Fund has been classified by the IRS as an educational 501(c)(3) organization. Monies in the endowment base are managed professionally.

ALL CONTRIBUTIONS BECOME PART OF THE ENDOWMENT BASE; the Schulman family covers all administrative costs required to maintain and develop the Fund. Contributors receive the newsletter published each September with excerpted reports from a sampling of that year's recipients.

Matching Gift Program:  If your company has a Matching Gift Program, we would be most grateful if you would send a completed matching gift form to:

Gifts of Stock:  Your broker can assist you in making a gift of stock via a direct transfer to the Amy Adina Schulman Memorial Fund.  Giving a gift of publicly traded stock that has increased in value and that you have owned for more than one year may provide greater tax benefits than giving cash.  Your charitable income tax deduction is equal to the fair market value of the stock and you avoid paying the capital gains tax on any increase in the current value over the original cost of the stock.  You may also save by not incurring brokerage fees because you are transferring ownership rather than selling the stock.

Bequests:  You can also make a gift to the Fund by leaving a bequest in your Will.  You can give a specific amount of money, or give a specified percentage of the residue of your estate, that which is left over after all specific gifts have been made whether charitable or non-charitable.  Such a bequest may be included in the body of a will or as an amendment (codicil).  Gifts made through a bequest typically provide an estate tax deduction.  Please consult your attorney and/or financial advisor for specific information.
